Prior to starting DonovanPR in July 2012, owner Liane Donovan ran an international PR consultancy and then co-owned her own agency.
 
DonovanPR is a team of senior associates, each highly skilled in a range of specialty areas including marketing and journalism. You only get top level people working on your business, providing top level results.

THE TEAM

Liane has held public relations positions both in-house and in agency in New Zealand, Australia, England and the Middle East over her 25 years experience.  Originally coming from a sales and marketing background, she understands the marketing mix and how to integrate public relations to its best possible advantage.
 
She was managing director of Professional Public Relations (PPR) for four years before running her own agency for ten years prior to starting DonovanPR.

Liane's extensive client portfolio includes FMCG, travel / tourism, health (natural and pharmaceutical), hospitality, environmental, community / not-for-profit, petfood and animal welfare. Her blue-chip clients have included McDonalds, 3M, Australian Tourist Commission, Sky City, Heinz-Wattie (Champ / Chef / Fancy Feast), Unilever, Arista Records, Discovery Channel, Fairfax Media, Streets Icecream, Moet & Chandon, Lion, Dominion Breweries, Schwarzkopf, Tip Top, National Foundation for the Deaf, Ziwi petfood, Natural Products New Zealand, Kiwis for kiwi and Yates.
 
Liane's love of animals sees her foster for the SPCA, is a boarder for Guide Dog Services, a fundraiser for Animals Asia Foundation and she works with various dog rescue organisations to rescue and rehome.  

She is also a founding trustee of the Mazda Foundation, a public charitable trust which assists a broad cross-section of worthy New Zealand causes.

Kirsten has 20 years public relations experience with the last 12 years in senior consultancy roles which included seven years as Group Director for Professional Public Relations (PPR) New Zealand and then Executive Director of Auckland agency, NBPR.
 
She has worked in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom and has a strong background in consumer and brand marketing, corporate marketing, FMCG, brand protection, events and issues management. Kirsten has directed high profile accounts across tourism, viticulture, hospitality, brewing, healthcare, retail, FMCG and not-for-profit sectors.  She has been responsible for developing innovative communications strategies and award winning awareness programmes for some of New Zealand's leading companies and brands.
 
Her client portfolio is diverse, having worked with clients including McDonalds Restaurants New Zealand, Delegats Wine Estate, New Zealand Winegrowers, Pernod Ricard, 3M, DB Breweries, Lion Breweries, Bunnings Warehouse, Provenco Group, Tourism Australia, Tourism New South Wales (now Destination New South Wales), Qualmark (Tourism New Zealand's official quality programme), The Heart Foundation and The Lion Foundation, to name just a few.

Catherine Tafto - Associate

Catherine has over ten years of communications and media experience across agency,
in-house and freelance environments.
 
She has worked agency side as an Account Manager at Auckland public relations agency NBPR managing diverse clients including New Zealand Winegrowers, Gambling Helpline, Tourism Australia, GlaxoSmithKline, Registered Master Builders Association and PlaceMakers.  She also worked extensively with NBPR's sister brands on event management, media and presentation training, research and media analysis for clients including Yellow, SPARC and Envirowaste.  Catherine has also worked in-house for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise as a website editor and with New Zealand Retailers Association managing the Auckland Top Shop Awards.
 
She has worked on a freelance basis on a variety of projects, including time with New Zealand Magazines as a writer and sub-editor.
 
Catherine thrives on the variety offered by consultancy work and always relishes the opportunity to learn about a new business or industry.  With a passion for the written word and strong attention to detail, Catherine is a skilled writer, editor and researcher.
